Sydney Finelli blogs about Dorm Life

After living in a dorm for a couple of months, I definitely have changed my mind about them. When coming to school, I was dreading living in such a small space with people I barely knew, but after the first week I came to really like it. After getting all situated and settled in, I agreed that it wasn’t as bad as people make it out to be. I came to love my roommate and learned to be more organized than I ever was. It’s a really fun environment and has allowed me to make many friends and surround myself with different people. Dorm life has given me utilities right inside my building to make school work easier and adjusting to college life easier as well. There are a few downsides unfortunately, like all the rules we have even though we are adults. The guest and noise rules can become sort of a nuisance, but I’ve learned to deal with them. Also space is a little bit of an issue, but if you get along with your roommate it can be solved very easily. I think it all depends on how well you can adjust to a new way of living, and I definitely think dorm life isn’t terrible at all.

  1. Sydney,

Those dorm rooms are nice. It looks more like an apartment. Very cool!
